The Story Behind Mercies & Manna
The Lord gave me Mercies & Manna when I needed it most. It was a reminder of His character and His love.
At the time, I was leading Bible study for a parachurch organization, and I was struggling. Life felt heavy, and I had nothing left to pour out. As I drove to Bible study one morning, I cried out to the Lord about being empty.
I had committed to leading the study but I knew I couldn’t do that well without the Lord. He met me on my drive in and it was like a whisper in my spirit. I heard “Mercies & Manna” and knew in that moment that He would supply all I needed that morning.
Over the years, through the ups and downs, it has been the reminder that God’s mercies are new every morning and His provision is daily.
Mercies & Manna will always be the reminder of God’s character to me. Today, I want to share with you, the reminder that God is who He says He is, and He does what He says He is going to do.
My Story
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. I was the only daughter to a couple who were riddled with pain from their own lives.
They tried in some sense to love me well, but how do you love someone well when you have never felt love?
I met and married my high school sweetheart, we have been married for 33 years, we have 4 children. Two, that preceed us in heaven and two that we got to raise here on earth.
I met the Lord in 2004 while my husband was stationed at Fort Belvoir, Va. I had grown up in a well populated part of the country and I had never heard that Jesus died for my sins until I landed in front of an army chaplain.
It was the greatest truth I had ever heard and I knew it was truth as soon as I heard it. I was a girl bound by the shackles of trauma and sin that had no hope until I heard the Good News of the Gospel!
That is not where the story ends though, it was the beginning of Life for me.
